Been on the hunt for ‘my’ perfect Tele for about 5 years. I’ve owned and played a few nice ones but what I really wanted was a hybrid of certain specs. So the brief was fairly straight forward, a classic looking Tele with a few modern appointments.

Met a very talented local luthier. Waited patiently for the desired parts to come on sale. Got it all together and handed it over. Suppose you’ll have to take my word for it but this thing killer! I’m beyond happy with it.

    Specs:

Body: Haynes 2 piece swamp ash body
    Body colour: Butterscoth , Nitro
Neck: Guitarbuild U.K. 21 fret Maple
    Compound radius: 7.25” - 10”
Profile: Very soft V , in the hand feels like a slightly fuller modern c Tele neck. Tinted Nitro lacquer finish on neck. Custom decal, guitardecals.co.uk
    Fret wire: Vintage
Bridge: Gotoh Nickel w brass comp saddles
    Tuners: Gotoh Nickel staggered tuners
    Pickups: Dimarzio True velvet set
    Pickguard: Bakelite, double thickness.
    Weight: 6lbs 11oz

Looks great! I don't think I've seen a 7.25-10" compound radius offered anywhere before. That's a neck I'd like to try out!

That is one seriously cool tele! I love your headstock shape and logo! I'm having a neck built with a 7.25" - 9.5" compound radius. I'd really be interested to know how the 10 feels.

Also, True Velvets are great pickups. Used to have a set.

Thanks mate. Always loved the Dano/USACG style headstock, so I thought.. why not.

Prefer the vintage radius for chord playing and the modern for soloing. Seemed like a practical solution. This particular neck just feels so comfortable and the 2 radiuses are familiar so it doesn’t feel like I have to get used to it. There’s a bit of muscle memory there that makes it so accessible.

These pickups just tick all the boxes for me.

    Hope you dig yours!

Beautiful! I especially like the weight.....my two Teles are 5lbs (slightly too light) and 8lbs. (slightly too heavy) Both my necks are Warmoth 10"-16" compound radii.....the compound bit is not noticeable to me. ENJOY!

Cheers. Yeah, I’ve played a few in that 5lbs - 6lbs range and personally I felt that they could sound sweet but mostly they sounded.. brittle, as if I could hear more of the pick up than the actual guitar. If that makes sense haha

The 5 pounder is currently my choice for gigging. It is so comfortable, although a little "neck heavy". But its Paulownia body is VERY resonant and sweet..

Looks awesome. Echo what the others are saying about the compound radius neck. Congrats.
