I was thinking the same thing when they were doing it. You're thinking there's a difference between 5 minutes and 6 1/2 minutes to protect a ONE point lead from a BRADY led offense? Sounded crazy, for sure. But damned if it didn't work... That and their ability to run the ball and keep Brady off the field for long stretches. But even if it hadn't worked, I freaking LOVED it when not only did Tennessee bleed the clock with fake penalties, but they actually baited the Patriots into bleeding it some more with an off-side penalty of their own. Beautiful "strategery" and mind games that Belicheck actually LOST for once.

I didn't understand Pats decision to not field the punt. Instead it rolled to the 1 and sealed the game. They could have fielded it at the 25 and had at least two plays left to pass downfield and get in FG position. Still a long shot but IMO a better pct play.

The Titans defense absolutely shut Brady down in the last half. That combined with the goal line stand that defense made in the 2nd quarter- holding the Pat's to a field goal from the 1 yard line- made bleeding the clock a pretty good bet that paid off.

What ended up happening was that the Patriots had no time to respond after Brady threw a pick 6 from the end zone. If the teams were flipped the commentators would be slobbering all over themselves about what a genius Belichick is, but since it worked against the golden boys for once, the narrative is that Mike Vrabel got lucky.

Yeah, I don't think it had anything to do with them winning though.... trying to remember...? I think the Pats were just not able to convert and threw the interception. Not so much out of time.

Hard to say - the Pats got the ball back at their own 1 yard line with something like 25 seconds left. That was partly because of the time eating tactics the Titans used and partly because they couldn't convert when they had the ball with a couple minutes left (when Edelman dropped that easy 3rd down pass, you knew the script had flipped!). But the bottom line is when they got the ball back the last time at their own 1 yard line, there was about 25 seconds left. Which had something to do with Brady's desperation to do SOMETHING on that play that ended up being the pick-six. Very different situation if he'd had closer to 2 minutes to work with. You certainly can't credit the win to the time eating penalties, but you can't take it completely out of the equation either.

How ironic, most of us in Houston wanted to play the Chiefs because we beat them once already.
I think the Chiefs are the favorite to win (rightfully so)
But the early season success the Texans had against the Cheifs is far more hopeful than the beating the Ravens laid on the Texans.

Two sides of the same coin.

I never bought into the thinking that it's hard to beat the same team twice in a season, we've been beating on the AFC West for many years to the tune of something like 26-3 against them since 2015. I totally believe we could have beaten either the Pats of Ravens again this year (only team to beat them both). Titans took care of the Pats, hopefully we'll get another shot at the Ravens. Gotta get past you guys though....

Well, I guess you're all happy now. We'll see if it's the end. If the Pats could hire Derrick Henry, suddenly TB would be GOAT all over again, he's unstoppable, yikes.

Hill is a playmaker for sure. The Saints are so dangerous when wh is featured.

Eagles seem to have misplaced their offense. Thought this was a soccer game
