Could be similar. There are also different shaft lenghts. Is there a way you can glue the original one with epoxy, or even solder the shaft ring to the casing?

    good ideas

I hooked it up and tested it. The contact between shaft and pot body affects the feedback function directly. I'm ignorant about electronics and don't know why that would be, but I did it over and over again.

I wrote to EHX and asked them where I could get a replacement pot. If they don't send one (which would be nice, but I'm not banking on it), I'll try your suggestion of soldering it. One problem is that the solder might introduce a hump somewhere and prevent the pot from meeting the housing nice and flush.

a drop of epoxy might work, plus a little solder

    hmm

That's really nice of them. No reason why they would pay for the pot you broke, but getting you the info is really thoughtful. For a mass producer to be so helpfully responsive is terrific. Good for them!

+1 That is a really nice follow up from a large pedal company. Kudos to EH.

That’s exactly what I was going to suggest. That’s was nice of them to point you in the right direction.

but somedays you're the windshield, and some days you're the bug:

    switch cable broke off

    lol

look, I know it's an old pedal, I should upgrade or something, maybe just chuck my whole rig and move to Tahiti with a Kemper

    but now it's PERSONAL

Happens to the best pedal builders. Those ribbon cables are a ***** to work with.

is it typical for these things to be attached to pcb boards at right angles? isn't that just asking for trouble?

I'd love to find some female connectors

Yep, sure is. You may be able to find some connectors at taydaelectronics.com , that’s where I get mine. Shipping is a little slow but reasonable. Small Bear is another good place. Better quality, but higher shipping.
