Finally picked up a dust collector. Also grabbed one of these bandsaw fences.

Good to hear. I've been just clamping a squared up piece of walnut to the saw to act as a fence, but that's pretty cumbersome. I had also made a resaw fence out of melamine, but again clamping to the table is a PITA. It's a great bandsaw so it needs a good fence.

Can you use the separator with it?

Thanks Herb, it'll be nice not to have to clean up as much after everything.
Hey Marty, are you referring to the dust deputy? It's got 2.5" ports on it so I don't think I will. I think it would restrict the airflow too much. It saves the filter on the shop vac so I'll keep it connected to that.

I agree on not going with a 2.5" reduction on your dust collector Brian , my first dust shoe on my CNC had a 2.5" feed and that restriction really lost a lot of cfm on the dust collection , the improvement when I went straight 4" from collector to dust shoe was eye opening

Considering that the difference in cross sectional area is proportional to the square of the diameter of the hose, the difference between 2.5 and 4" is significant. My dust shoe also has a 4" port. I was using a 4 - 2.5 adapter on the end of the hose to hook up to the dust deputy, now I can get rid of that adapter.

Nice. I've been toying around with design ideas to build a fence for my band saw. Right now I've got one fence I've made that transfers from my drill press to my router table to my band saw. Like you, though, I've been clamping it to the table of my band saw, and I'd really like to come up with something more easily adjusted.

Maybe that'll be my project for today...

My last two tool purchase are the exact same thing.

I did not like the king at the beginning because I felt it was not sucking as I was hoping. I noticed that it improved when I started working with it.

I have not installed the fence yet but plan to do so shortly.

    Enjoy!

Well, I've decided that pretty much all my necks from now on will be multi piece laminates. Having to continue clamping a piece of wood was going to drive me nuts!
Andre, see my dust collector mod thread that I just posted. Have you tried anything like that?
