Hello everyone my name is Rob, guitarist for about 30 years.. musical influences Eric Johnson, Steve vai, satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix etc.. stopped playing a few years ago, "back issues affected hand" and just got back into the game.. picked up a few cheaper guitars Ibanez cmm2 "decent guitar with a nice fat maple neck, mahogany body" need to throw Duncan's in it!" A 72 thin line squire Tele"this one is surprisingly good," a Ltd h 101fm, " another surprisingly decent guitar" threw some gm hecbuckers in it that get about 75% of a super distortion's tone.. amp wise an older line 6 spider iv 75 watt I picked up for 75 bucks. And recently a boss katana 50 which definitely sounds good in a lot of respects but can't quite fully bond with it, seems to have a bit of upper mid harshness and some exaggerated presence in the higher gain lead and brown amp settings, it's definitely loud for a 50 watt solid state amp. Though I can really kick myself for selling all my old gear thinking I was going to actually quit playing.. (the gear I got rid of, a fender James Burton telecaster, valley arts Larry Carlton model Tele, mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood board, Duncan p 90's, warmoth body and neck.. amps were a egnater tweaker 15, blackheart little giant combo, Marshall class 5 head and 112 cab, and a blues Jr 111. I was a pedalholic .. wampler paisley drive, sovereign distortion, green rhino, ocd, fulldrive mosfet 2, mxr 78 bad ass, super bad ass overdrive, mxr carbon copy, vox time machine, vox ice 9, satchurator, mad professor golden cello.. "I can't Believe I sold all that gear!" Ughhhh! The guitars I have currently are definitely workable, I can't jive with any of the amps though.. don't get me wrong they are decent amps, I think I was just spoiled by the tube amp pedal combinations. Looking at different amps like Ibanez tsa 15, jet city jca 20h, and another that kind of peaked my attention, the quilter 101 mini.. I am kind of working on the cheap for now, but I'm sure I'll manage to accumulate gear doing bar giggs etc... also very interested in learning how to build simple tube amps, how each part/component works I.e capacitors, resistors, transistors, transformers, tubes etc.. anyhow sorry about the long winded intro post I'm typing from this kindle fire tablet that has bad screen sensor sensitivity lol..

Greetings. Might as well get it out of the way; you're going to be asked for pics of your guitars.

Welcome and please post pics. So many of us lack the ability and imagination to paint a mental picture of described gear.
It’s a great friendly and wise group.

I've been told that sold gear syndrome can be cured pretty quick though. Lol there are much more nutrients in swamp ash as, and alder, than many leading doctors will actually disclose .. And besides who needs food anyway! it's truly overrated i've been told :lol::)

I think this is okay, but I'm not absolutely for sure? Not trying to promote my guitar jams or be a ham, or turkey for that matter lol.. here's a link to some of the jams I wrote.. I'm currently gigging in a country/southern rock band which is a lot of fun. Learning some country lead techniques has been both good and challenging.
