New to TDPRI

I live in Western New York. I started playing guitar in 1964. I switched to bass because all my friends could play guitar better than me. I still play guitar as a hobby. I bought a Super Reverb and an American Strat in 1976. Both are in great condition. I bought a Martin D35 in 1978. I still have them. I always liked Telecasters but never thought about getting one until Sept 2021. I decided every guitar player should have one, including me. I bought a Fender Player Plus (The one with noisy pickups) and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV tweed amp. I bought and installed a set of Seymour Duncan vintage noiseless pickups. Nice and quiet now. I play blues, a little rock, and a little country. Glad I joined this 'Club'.

Howdy and welcome!
It’s interesting/funny that you mention how you became a bass player.
In my ‘hood, the guy who was, uh, not getting up to speed on guitar got relegated/lumbered (Sir Paul’s description) with playing bass.
After playing guitar for about 30 years, I started playing bass.
So guitar 55 years, bass 25 years.
I love em’ both.
Bass is more fun, though I play it less.
Sorry for blathering.
