Yes! Pau Ferro. Guitarists tend to be very traditional. We like rosewood, ebony and maple fretboards because they are traditional fretboard woods. Manufacturers used those materials because they were readily available and did the job - not due to some tonal magic. I have the same tendency to be a traditionalist but have been working on being more open-minded the past few years. I actually prefer fretboards that show lighter and darker shades and natural wood grain streaks. They look more authentic and natural to me compared to dyed wood. I love the streaks and color variations in my fretboard. It almost looks like dark roasted maple. It doesn’t feel any different than my rosewood Gibson Les Paul or SG.
