    Yup, LPB.

I know an American Special will have a pale maple headstock, but it will also have a dark, dark East Indian Rosewood board, and personally I think the rosewood would be worth having - even with a pale headstock.

I'm glad that Jerry and others like this combo so much. I will, in a few years. I'm just a stick in the mud, and it will take time for me to fully embrace the Pau Ferro in some of these color combinations.

Congratulations! I've been interested in acquiring the same guitar in the same color!

I'm very interested to hear what think after spending some additional time playing it. And... if you happen to have any other Teles that you can compare / contrast it against, as that would give me a great sense of what the guitar is like (I never see these in nearby LGS).

I never really thought about a blue guitar until I started seeing them on this forum. Now, of course, I want one.

LPB was my suspicion, but it looks darker than other LPB guitars I have seen. I don't think I've ever seen two LPB guitar pics that look the same. Maybe it's just my poor colour perception, but they all look beautiful, just slightly... different.

As the owner of an LPB Tele with a rosewood board, I'm usually inclined to agree with you. Upon seeing the OP's photo, however, I'll make an exception for this one. Looks attractive with the tint of the neck and the LPB.

LPB has a fair bit of variation over the years. A friend's 2016 Special (with a rosewood board) appears notably darker than some other examples I've seen, and with a pale neck.

Fret ends out of Ensenada:mad: You think Fender, with all the complaints about fret ends coming out of Ensenada, would fly the fret guy in Indonesia to Ensenada, and give some lessons.

My Fender Ensenada necks all have nice fret ends. A few of my Fender Corona necks have some edgy fret ends. Definitely seems less consistent from Corona, to me.

Thanks guys! The color varies in different light. I like the tinted neck and headstock - it compliments the lighter color streaks in the fretboard.

For point of reference: This is my second Telecaster. I briefly owned a 2016 American Standard Telecaster a few years ago. I got a great deal on it by winning an aBay auction. I made a low bid and was shocked when I was notified I won. I ended up selling it for more than I paid for it before I had a chance to bond with it. I regretted it.

I had the opportunity to play it more yesterday. I really like the modern C profile and medium jumbo frets. The pickups are impressive. They produce a traditional Tele twang and sound great clean and with overdrive. I’m still getting used to the 4 way switch and S1 button.

I have Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups in my Strat and absolutely love them. They produce a traditional Strat tone with none of the noise. I ordered an American Ultra loaded pickguard and control plate from the Stratosphere. I plan to sell my stock set up on Reverb.

I'm assuming this is a Pau Ferro fretboard. I have to say I disagree with some on here about rosewood looking better. PF can, and does, look cheap on some guitars when the wood isn't well chosen. However, you have a REALLY nice grain pattern on there and IMO the grain looks way better than a lot of rosewood boards, even on USA made Fenders. This guitar looks lovely!
