+1. People whining about PC and SJWs need to cool off.

Its not startrek. Startrek is a little camp, a little tacky, and deals with ethics and the human condition.
The reboot is just an action scifi movie with too much lens flare. The first 2 were ok, but its now descended into Michael Bay territory where visuals are order of the day and storyline & plot are not really a priority.

Okay, just how much lens flare is in the new movie?

Way to make unwarranted assumptions based on one comment in a much longer post about a second-rate director.

I have no idea what the "obvious reasons" might be and it makes no difference, anyway.

I will not be revisiting this thread. Enjoy the rest of the discussion.

That seems to be most movies these days, and why I haven't been to the theater more than once since Inception. I'll take a good story plainly presented over wiz-bang effects all day.

Man time flies so fast! Thought this was coming out in a couple months.

I saw it this past weekend. My wife and I both enjoyed it. Some of the special effects were over the top, but that's my only complaint.

Alright, I'm back with my review of 'Beyond' and I say it was pretty good! I thought the action sequences with the Beastie Boys tune was a little on the campy side, but a lot of fun nonetheless.

The only thing missing from the film was a reboot of Uhura's fan dance... maybe in #4

Hey, welcome to the TDPRI. In a website devoted to Telecasters, your first post is about Star Trek. To quote Mr. Spock himself: fascinating.

Meh, I spend most of my time here bashing Windows 10 and arguing with people over whether or not digital amps are "real". :)

Perhaps, but your very first post was about the Telecaster.

Anyway, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just always curious about how people find this site, and what prompts their first post. It shows that we are much more than a guitar forum.

Very little. Almost none. Apparently JJ Abrams' wife told him to quit it with the lens flare after Into Darkness.

Interesting. My wife told me "quit with the Tom Waits impersonations". Me: "my necktie ... is asleep". Her: the look.
