    Looks to me like the control plate is misaligned, half a nudge to the right, showing what would in other circumstances be called "buttcrack." The holes can be filled, and the plate realigned.

    Those bodies are finished in a hard synthetic coating. The chipped area (or whatever it is) won't spread. Mind your mother and don't pick at it.

    If you like the guitar you have options. 1. Ignore the imperfection and play it, 2. Fix the imperfection and play it, 3. Return it and hope for the best.

    I'd put away the microscope and play the crap out of it. :cool:
