Just a little show and tell. Made a pickguard swap when I changed pickups on my tele. I know lots of people are purists and prefer the classic cream. But I like black, and think it looks kinda badass. It's one of those cheap $10 ones from eBay, rather than an expensive one from Stratosphere or someplace. Fit pretty good, just needed to be shaved a bit at the control plate.

They both look great. This is a case where having the neck pickup mounted on the body rather than the pickguard would be really convenient, but as is it will still be easy to switch them as you please.

Also, had a four-way switch put it, along with a Broadcaster/Twisted Tele set from out of a Baja tele. Big difference all the way around. Eager to spend some more time with it to see how it responds to different amps/pedals/etc.

On that particular guitar the black looks best. IMHO of course.

Both look nice and it is easy to switch them. I prefer the parchment with a maple neck on a sunburst. The black pickguard shape blends too well on the dark burst and the shape is lost a little but some people like that look as well.

yeah, good swap I think too... I think black is better on everything other than pastel guitars.

Looks great. Best thing about a Tele is how easy you can change your look! I recently went to Mint. Also went to a pickguard mounted guard.
