Hi,

I have a 1989 Made in Korea Squier (from the Samick plant).

After seeing so many other beautiful black Teles with different coloured pickguards (black, tortoise, red, etc), I'm toying with the idea of changing the pickguard on my MIK.

My only question is does anyone know if a standard pickguard made for a US or MIM Tele will fit my guitar? Is there a way to tell for sure?

Thanks for your help :)

Tortoise pickguard would be a good. But does the pink Dino approve?

Dino (which is the name of the guitar) will move to whichever new pickguard I choose. He's pretty easy going

And I agree that a nice tortoise would like nice.

So from the first reply, I'm guessing that a standard Tele pickguard will fit my MIK, right?

I ordered a new pick guard from guitar parts resource for my 93 made in Korea tele, had to
file 1/16 " off where the pick guard meets the bridge due to diff.in usa vs. import bridge length. other than that no problems, screw holes even matched

Thanks telejnky.

Replacing the original bridge with a Gotoh bridge was one of the mods made on my MIK. So hopefully it will fit the standard pickguard with no modification required.

But glad to hear the screw holes line up. That was one concern I had.

Don't know if this helps but I have an 85 MIJ black (with original barrel bridge) and I've had numerous pgs on it. All have fit with no problem. I've had more problems fitting my various Strats with different pgs than this one.
And all the pgs have crossed over to my CV 50 at one time or another so I don't think it's really a problem.
Cheers
