Body just got here today. Put the tuners on the roasted maple neck last weekend. Had all the other parts. I think the black hardware is just right. More to follow...

Unique! Very cool. Were you inspired to do that to use up a bunch of scraps or did you come up with the look first?

Thanks! Strangely, it usually starts with a neck for me. I got a good buy on the roasted maple neck, thought it might be nice to use black tuners, searched for a body for about a week, and here I am.

Thank you, sir! Tomorrow I'll be installing the pickups, hopefully getting the soldering iron out and testing out the 5 way switching :)

Finished installing the neck and the ferrules tonight. I am so loving this African Padauk back! And the roasted maple neck is pretty cool, too!

Was hoping to mod a budget version myself but no longer in stock or plans to run more. Kurt @ Rondo Music said this was not a money maker for them at $289. Would love to have one for the scale length alone (25.5") but would much prefer the headstock on yours :).

Installed the pickups, bridge, bridge ground wire and neck ring during lunch today. I really enjoy the Dimarzio Chopper T I used in the bridge in a recent project, so decided to use it again in this one. This is the first I have used an Area T, so I'm hoping I like it in the neck.

Tomorrow I'll be installing and soldering my control plate assembly. I'm using 500K pots and 5 way switching.

The body is most unusual. I like it as an object in and of itself.
    Should be a cool guitar.

It is finished!!!! After three months from the start of my project I now have the build I wanted. What took me so long was never being fully satisfied with the no name neck I bought of Reverb. The playability on it never met my satisfaction.

So I picked up a Warmoth neck from their specials list...roasted maple "boatneck", and had them install stainless 6150 frets and a black TUSQ nut. Now THIS plays like I want it too.

So just what do I call this new partscaster I assembled? I just call it awesome! Body by Rich Babik (find him on Reverb), which is heavily chambered and composed of African Padauk, Black Palm, Zebrawood and figured Maple. Warmoth roasted maple neck with stainless frets. Dimarzio Area T in the neck; Chopper T in the bridge. Five way Bill Lawrence style switching and 500K pots.
