Until a few years ago, where I work I used to write and direct an annual "adult" pantomime for charity.

The staff would perform it in our main conference hall, there would be much ribaldry, carousing, and imbibing, and all hell would generally break loose.

This painting is based on a quieter moment, in make-up, before a performance. Hope you like it. I'm also pleased that I found an opportunity just now to use the word ribaldry, not to mention carousing.

Love it - for me much more pleasing than the abstract. Keep painting

Ribaldry is almost as much fun to say as Shropshire.

Question: did you paint this from a photo, or..?

    Another nice painting.

For over twenty years I played guitar for my village panto, we used the local primary school facilities, until the theatre of the former West Berkshire Lunatic Asylum became available. Here is a backstage shot from one of our productions.

You'll forgive me if I don't turn it into a painting.

Fantastic work hemingway! Love it. Your detail is superb and it really feels like you capture all details of a given moment, it's so cool.

Also, thanks to your post, as I've never seen the word 'ribaldry' before...I will likely see the word about seven times this week, LOL!

I think ribaldry should be the TDPRI word of the week. Closely followed by balderdash.

You paint well in make-up, but the paintings you do while not in make-up look great also.

Amazing homage to Norman Rockwell....in my opinion.
