Based on a photo I took of my son in Greenwich some years back.
That's beautiful, Hemingway.
Why did you call it Heart Of Darkness?
It just reminded me of the opening of the novel, when the narrator is looking out over the river.
"The air was dark above Gravesend, and farther back still seemed condensed into a mournful gloom brooding motionless over the biggest, and the greatest, town on earth . . ."
"And this also," said Marlow suddenly, "has been one of the dark places of the earth."
That's great, and very much fitting.
Thank you, good sir.
"Mistah Kurtz-- he dead."
That's an amazing painting!
I love it!
I also paint and dabble and stuff, for almost 60 years.
Over the years have done portraits of most of my family.
My grown daughter has already laid claims to several of my pieces...sorta getting the estate in order early...
The title threw me off. I actually find the piece very uplifting and peaceful
Thanks, I appreciate it.
I suppose the title also suggested itself to me from what might be in the boy's mind. "One day all this will be MINE!! MWUA HA HA!"
Or maybe I'm projecting . . .
. . . it was also kind of inspired by this. Wanderer above the sea of fog by Caspar David Friedrich.
Very nice. I assume that's the Old Royal Naval college on the left hand side.
That is really good, Hemingway! How long does it take to paint something like that, out of curiosity?
Amazing job Hemingway! You have a unique style to your art that is so pleasing to the eye.
Lovely, really nice style. Talented man.
Many thumbs up. We don't need one o' them thar art galleries, we've got one m Hemingway!
Indeed, and the National Maritime museum.
Thanks, that took about 10 hours.
Why thank you, sir.
