I'm not sure if Ladybird books are a peculiarly British thing.

They are little illustrated hardcover children's books that have been around for many decades, and cover a multitude of subjects. They are something of a cultural institution here.

Nice work! Especially the tufted leather and the boys hair. What size is the canvas?

Another nice piece.
Is it me or does your son sit in/on some strange places?

I admire your talent

Hi.

Common in the New Zealand of my youth. No idea about now. Haven’t seen one in ages.

Nice painting. Nice couch too. I’m currently lying on the floor.

Ah, Ladybird books. They defined and encouraged the reading habits of generations of Brits.
This book was the starting point for my love of tinkering with stuff.

Your painting is awesome. I struggle to draw the curtains.

These are some that my boy found in a local antique/junk shop.

There is, of course, a big crossover between kids' books of that era and out-and-out propaganda. Ah, good times . . .

I portrayed a child who reads, because I love to read books and I do it whenever possible. I adore Shakespeare and his Macbeth. At https://writix.co.uk/essay-examples/macbeth I read quite constructive information about his tragedy.
Incredible painting!
