    Pixelated days #6.

To me these paintings are about the tension between the freedom of the random on one hand, and the attraction of repeating patterns on the other.

Or maybe I just need to get out more . . .

So here's the new one, and a picture of #5 and #6 together.

And those are nice warm colors. The painting almost looks like pixilation as seen too close up. I wonder what it might look like if we zoom out. Though I always have a hard time just seeing abstract, my brain is always working to make it out to be "something."

It's really interesting to see the brush work if you zoom into the paintings. We take for granted in today's printing world that something that looks like a bunch of squares could be easy to create, but there's true mastery in what you've created, especially with your straight lines. Well done H

Thanks. I could have done it digitally, I suppose. But I like the texture of the brush and all the imperfections of the paint.

Little did he know that the simple artistic idea would become the most revered piece of art of our times... :)

Eye movement tends to go from dark to light....so there is movement.....one of the things i look for is movement and how the artist dictates to the viewer how they look at the painting....do you force the eye to move around the whole piece so they see everything you have done......
All that said i like it.

Again, very nice. Would it out of line to ask for a closeup of, say, a 12”x12” section. I’d love to see the brushwork you use

    Bravo

I wondered that too. Before I got to your post I went down the hall to view them from a distance. They take on a completely different meaning and 'feel'. I'm not sure how to explain or describe it, so try it for yourself.
