Back in 1973 I had a pretty good job as a hydraulic apprentice so I went looking for a new electric guitar. My buddy had just bought a Gibson ES150 a year before but couldn’t make the payments. I bought it off him for princely sum of $300. I loved that guitar. A few years later I was getting married and I needed to put money into my 68 Fury S.S so I had to sell it. I finally got another one, today, 46 years later. Brother it’s a beaut. Fellow on Reverb said it was in excellent condition and it is. Frets are 95% and have just been polished. Only thing not original is the tuners. Pickups sound excellent and all the electronics are scratch free. Got it for way below what the other ones I’ve seen were going for so I was a little shocked at the condition. Thanksgiving indeed!

A beaut! Congrats and enjoy!

But what happened to the Fury...?

(My Dad had a '68 Fury III, which I thought was named after him. He'd get furious on average three times a day, so.... A handsome car and, he later said, "Perfectly reliable! Until it completely wasn't.")

If I remember the tranny went out and I traded it and some money for a 70 Olds 225.

LOVE IT. You guys are almost giving me GAS with these ES-150 threads, but I have a couple of Casinos to scratch that itch.

Congrats!

Congrats!

I don't know much about the 150 model. Is it basically the same as a 335, but with a deeper body?
