    1974 Quad Reverb.

    Yes it's big and heavy.

    Yes it's super loud.

Yes it's way more than I need in my 10x10 music room.

It also happens to sound great at lower volumes and I'm not a traveling musician.

Being a huge Albert Collins fan, this is an amp that I always wanted to have, but they just never came up locally until this week. As soon as I saw it on CL, I contacted the seller and made an over and set up a meet and greet. Had to drive an hour and a half to a storage facility to check it out. The tolex is a little beat up and it smells like a 43 year old amp, but it works great and sounds great. So far, I am super happy with it and look forward to getting a lot of use out of it.

Congratulations, Bones! There's nothing like getting an amp you've always wanted, and having it sound good to boot. Fantastic!

    That's awesome. Congratulations, Bones!

Didn't Waylon use a Quad sometimes?

I knew someone who had one. Let's say that really depends on your definition of lower volumes.

So when the cops cite you for disturbing the peace, do they write four tickets? :D

    Congrats on finding your amp!

Congrats, Bones! Looks great. Sometimes, I think my version of that would be the Super Six Reverb...

Great have you heard the great contemporary player Guy King with his Quads? He uses two if he can. Check him out.

Ty Segall, a prolific modern garage rock guy, also uses one. I believe he has a master volume installed. Congrats on a unique and powerful amp!

Nothing sounds better than a Twin Reverb at any volume...

    Except a Quad! :)
