Neck looks pretty good - big frets, I like. Neck pocket is a hair too tight for the neck, well within sanding range for a tight fit. $77.37 including shipping and tax, off eBay. I plan to build it up without a pickguard. Will report back in weeks or months when I get it done.

So with no guard, how will you mount the pickups and knobs?

H__, I don't know. Maybe Velcro for the pickups, a short plastic piece for the controls. Since this guitar will be worth zero on the market, I can mess it up as I please... I always admired the look of Paul Simon's one-pickup Strat.

Build it up without a neck too! Get jiggy with it!

The body routing does offer some interesting possibilities....

    I am intrigued....

I am intrigued about these bodies of Muslady. Do you know what wood it is or what wood they said it is? Is this their version of "Sycamore"? It actually has a decent grain pattern like alder.

If you’re sticking to HSH and don’t want the pg around the pups, you’ll have to to do some sort of control mounts a la Eddie Van Halens Frankenstrat.

This is interesting. I like the guitar kit - so far - but am sorry that its vendor may have had dubious activity in her past. I plan to either keep the peghead blank, or put a word of my own choice on it.

No reflection on the quality of your kit. Everyone was making knockoffs in China (still are) and Gibson went after a number of them. She did her time as restitution. Her company never represented them as real Gibsons unlike some resellers in the US that were busted for selling them as real Gibsons at real Gibson prices.
