how do you feel/think about these
i use some on my own build
i made these out of 2 mm steel (lasercut)
A little too busy for me. I’d like a relatively plain one with the angled switch slot though. They look well made.
Well, it's a very clever idea...
...but I'm more of a traditionalist.
They look cool! The angled switch slot is my preferred setup. One thing to keep in mind - if you sweat a lot, or drunks are throwing beer at you, allowing liquids into the guts is obviously problematic. Consider etching/engraving the designs, but not going clear through the plate?
really like these... I'm not a switch guy though so that would have to go. (I think this thread shows that custom options are the best option)
Very nice designs. I also like the angled switch.
I buy blanks n make my own preferred setup.
Agreed. You would also potentially be able to see the guts. Which would kind of spoil the effect. Etching is the way to go.
Cool - there is a market for them .
This one would be perfect for a army green ‘Jeep’ build!
That's the whole point of the effect for me... I'd use bright red or yellow wire, make it look hotrod.
How much for one that looks like this @Steel builder ? I'm interested providing it's not crazy price.
I like them. Specially the heater and the gibsonswitch.
I just recently had a custom plate made.
I wanted the volume and tone knobs out of my way.
Here it is.
Interesting and creative, but I'm in the "if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it" camp.
You may want to check the switch slot with an installed switch.. You'll find yours a little to wide... while it will have no impact on functionality, it will just set some of those who pay attention to such little details.
The vented plate is probably great if you're a real hot player
Some cool looks going on but I prefer the stripped down hot rod, not really into the decorative hot rodding thing.
I've long felt that a Gibson switch was a better idea but went to Esquires before I got around to trying that, and I'm glad I no longer need any switch at all.
Given the recent trend of pretty wiring, I suppose the grille slots might be cool with nice tidy wiring showing through.
I like the cutout/ grille design on the relic/ painted plate best, and that would show the pots & wiring and maybe the spendy pio cap nicely.
Cool! Those would look cool with some color behind them, maybe a color gel? Does anyone still use gels?
I'm wondering if I could get a small battery in there now .... get it lit up.
