(Yeah I'm bored)
It's not everyday that you can go right out and buy a lamp. I know you're proud right now.
Haha, thanks GoodTexan
You guys are nice.
Really I'm just killing time- in 15 minutes i go to see my dad in hospice at the VA.
Yesterday when I went, I'm not at all sure he was aware I was there. He was only conscious briefly.
But I had a good long talk with him, anyway.
Sorry about your dad. It's a painful thing to go through, I know.
Now I will wait patiently for someone to gasp in horror about that bookcase of yours...
Really sorry to hear this. I hope you're able to say goodbye to one another properly. Heartbreaking.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that.
Ya' got Asteroids?
Naw, but my dad does. Can't even sit on the toilet some days.
Its great when you can afford to satisfy that GAS
Lovely lamp and I appreciate the poor sagging boards on the bookshelf. I have one very similar to that.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my father in June and those last days are indeed difficult. I hope he is not suffering.
Where did you get the tapestry? I need one...
I’ve always wanted one of those green glass desk lamps you always see in old films
I’ve also always wanted some of these pen holders
When people aren’t looking I’d pretend I’m piloting a space craft
Sorry for the tangent
There’s a singing fish and missile commander!
Heck on tapestries
That place is like a museum
I think those green glass desk lamps you're referring to are called "Library Lamps". Google that to see if I'm right. Yeah.....those are really cool.
I have an old florescent desk lamp, with two slim 18" "bulbs" that belonged to my grandfather, and were used in his architecture/structural engineering office back in the forties and fifties. It's amazing it still works. (although I've replaced the bulbs a few times)
And when blowtorch posted he had a new lamp, for some reason I was expecting either a "Black Light" or a Lava Lamp.......fooled me!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you and yours find peace during this time. Stay strong and the folks here on the forum will help you keep your mind on other things while you deal with your loss.
My Dad is 88 and is doing really well but someday this hard time will visit me and my family as well.
If you mean what I think, I'm so sorry......prayers sent.
Oh man, so sorry to hear that.
My condolences. I originally was gonna just make some comment on how your lamp oughta look like a blowtorch or something like that. Never mind that stuff now. Take care, be well.
