The catch is that you can only play songs by The Cure in the style of Tiny Tim.

I wish it was a mando. I'd do that.

    I'd buy that.

I've never wanted a Uke. But an offset body mandolin with the tuners all on one side sounds great .

8 in line would be a challenge, but I like the idea. Maybe Ric style, one out, one back?

I just found out these ukes are concert size with a laminate top. So, never mind...not interested anymore. Maybe for $100 as a beach toy I would do it.

    Me too.

Laminate top ruins it for me.

Cool look. But looks aren't everything.

I want one! I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a uke, and you just made up my mind. Thanks for posting.

Laminate top is no big deal for a uke with a pick guard on it. It’s not going to be resonant anyway. But it will probably sound just fine amplified, or for quiet fun at home.

Perfect for busking with a Cube Mini, or songwriting at home, a studio toy, quiet noodling when the family is asleep, open mic nights for the “strum & hum” set, etc.

Even just to leave lying around the house.

You can buy uke strings tuned in 5ths. GDAE or CGDA. Victorian Blackwood

Yeah, but it's just not a mando with only 4 strings.

I think it's funny that people are okay with the shape but not with the laminate top.

Okay you make some excellent points. I’ll try one out in a store first and then decide. Thank you.

Also, it's acoustic-electric, right? Piezo in the bridge?

I've got a couple Tele ukes. One is an el cheapo I bought because the price was right.

The other I made for a build challenge.

I’d probably put a low G on it to make it more guitarish, instead of tge reentrant tuning.
    IE/ GCEA instead of gCEA

I have way too many ukes already!
