Hi there, just thought I'd pop in and say hi here before chipping in on another thread.

My name is Dave, I'm in my early 40's and live in Scotland with my wife and two kids. I've got my first acoustic guitar last May and started lessons later in the summer along with my eight year old son. Taking physical lessons has been one of the best decisions I've made in a long time! I wish I'd found the guitar earlier in my life.

Also got hold of a cheap early 2000's Ibanez RGX towards Christmas, but didn't really feel any connection to it all. So, last week, I finally took the plunge and bought a Classic Vibe 60's Custom double-bound in Candy Tangerine. It's here, and it's brilliant (despite a loose jack which I've fixed myself at least temporarily). I'll post a few pics in the thread about the Green version in the Squier sub-forum if anyone is interested.

Amp-wise I've got a Blackstar ID:Core 20 v2, an impulse-buy Boss Katana Mini and I also acquired a Line 6 UX1 to connect it to my PC and play along with Guitar Pro. As much as I love the Blackstar (despite part of me wishing I'd gone for an Orange Crush 20RT) I spend most of my time on the sofa with the Katana when my son hasn't pinched it. Space is at a premium just now at home, and I don't really have a permanent spot for an amp to sit.

Anyway, I hope this message finds everyone well - thanks for reading.

    Dave

Here are some photos of my new Tele, managed to get the sparkle to show up in one of them - which is a challenge.

NICE !!!! Also Dave, there's a cool little tool that lets you tighten a jack (from the outside) without the risk of twisting the internal wire connections. I have one and it has worked great for me on various guitars. Looks like this:

Oh, yeah, loose jacks are a thing.
    But easy to manage.
Welcome. Enjoy. That’s a great color.

Welcome in Dave. I will say, you keep your guitar a lot cleaner than I keep mine. Kudos to you just for that!

Thanks for the suggestion re: the tool. I can't find one cheap enough in the UK for me to not just do the electrosocket replacement. Hopefully I'll have a few weeks before it works loose again haha.

It's called the "Bullet" jack tightener. It runs about $15.00. Of course you can get it online from a number of places, or perhaps a local in-person merchant would carry it, which is always a good way to go.

Welcome from Texas. My family came here from Scotland, but since it was over 400 years ago, you probably wouldn't know any of them. ;)
Nice looking guitar! My avatar used to be that red, until I took a belt sander to it and finished it "natural". But yours looks nice, especially with the rosewood fingerboard. Best wishes! :)
