after all these years i finally own a tele. went looking for a white 89 american standard to go with my 89 strat, but, instead ended up with a 2012 american vintage.

fantastic guitar! plays so easily. i was worried about the neck being too much for my small hands but no, it is great! also, from this site, i was able to set up the intonation spot on! thanks!!!!!

i've already swapped out the one ply white guard for a 3 ply white guard. it needs a little aging to go with the guitar but otherwise i think it looks great, especially, next to my strat.

here are some pics: one with the old guard, one with the new guard and one with its cousin, my strat!

    play music!

Nice and goes well with the Strat. Is it a 58 or 52 Pure Vintage?

58 since it has a little easier neck for my small hands to play than the 52. also, the lightweight ash body is just right so that it doen't kill my bursitis inflicted shoulder. ha!

nice guitars, both of them. What you got for an amp?The tele looks like mine,I put a parchment p/g on it. I like it but you're right they need to age a bit before they seem right

    Beautiful!

    Both guitars look great.

I woulda stayed with the single ply, but both looks are real nice.

    Congrats!

i still have the original guard so i may rotate them every other string change.
biggest problem is finding the correct screwdriver to swap out each guard. Ha!

    play music!

I am loving that single ply, as well. I want my Esquire - when I get one - to have that same color scheme. Very classy.

I didn't think I would, but I actually like the single-ply a little better. Either way, awesome looking, sounding, and playing guitar. Congrats!
