2012 Epiphone Les Paul Standard. One of the 2 acceptable colors for LPs (IMHO) has a really pretty flaming on the back of the neck TBH. I’m pleased.

And will spend more time with her when I can. But I think she told me she wants Duncan Phat Cat P90s.

Thanks guys. It’s been in layaway for a bit. Saw it and didn’t want to leave and it sell. Lol. Got hurt and haven’t worked since 8/29. But went ahead and pulled it out today. Didn’t need to spend the money (since work comp doesn’t pay much) but also been looking for a gold top for a while. So oh well. lol.

If you are going to keep that guitar. Serious improvements can be made for your listening pleasure. Some Tone pros hardware and I notice the strings are not wrappped around. Antiquities or Frailin pure PAF's would also do wonders.

Nice! The anticipation of giving it a good seeing to when your elbow is functioning again must be incredible.

    Something to look forward to...

And yes, it needs P-90s, even if they are humbucker-sized ones.

nope. Not wrap around. I’m usually strictly a tele player. Heard hit or miss about wrap around strings. Never seriously looked into it. And I may end up swapping pickups and redoing all electronics. But I’m a fan of P90s

gold tops and cream P90s is a match made in heaven. But given the humbucker routing. The phat cats may be my best bet.

And yea. Lol. Shop owner was surprised i got it. I laughed and said well I can’t play it yet. But not about to let it default and loose it. He offered to restring it (they are pretty rusty) I said it will just sit a few weeks anyway. So he gave me a new set to put on when he time comes. So that’s cool.

In my mind. A Les Paul can be one of two options only. Lol (all preference of course. No judgement)
But 1. Gold top with cream P90s
Or 2. Tobacco burst with humbuckers that match hardware. Be it gold, chrome, or nickel. (Preferably nickel)

I think the tone thing with wrapping the strings around the stop bar is negligible

The only reason to do it is if the strings are hitting the back of the bridge, and if that happens you could also just raise the tailpiece but no one ever does that , sucks tone to raise it up, or so they say

Was it your right elbow that got broken?

If so plug er in and play with hammer-on’s And such ( I just watched a video with Steve vai where he says he played like that while he was recouping from shoulder surgery)

lol it’s my left. And it’s actually the radial head. So I don’t have wrist rotation. Have limited elbow movement. But enough to play. My left wrist has about 80 degrees of movement. So flat on a table. I can rotate and give thumbs up. Lol.

Sooo for playing reference. I can BARELY twist my arm and play a D chord. But even that’s pushing it.

Nice! The plastic looks good, too. I loved my black Goldtop, but the pickguard and rings were appliance-white instead of the creamy white that an LP should have. If I’d kept it, that would have changed.

Ive really thought about that. Probably a horrible idea to try to strum left handed. But could probably play softly with fingers. But just over 2 weeks (16 days) I’ve come a long way. Maybe next week. Idk. I go for CT scan this Thursday.

Ah yes, 2012. Excellent year. So glad the world didn't end as predicted by the Mayan calendar. :)
