Very cool. I have an old table with that same edging and I've always planned to make a dano type guitar with it when the legs finally give way. Seeing this guitar makes me want to speed the process up a little...

Lucky man -- big GAS for a Girlbrand guitar on my part. Almost forgot about them, but it looks like they are still in biz. Maybe someday.

I'm really curious about the electronics -- "tone transformers." Any chance of a pic?

That's cool as heck, interesting background info too.
Every time I look at the pic I think about can openers.

Very cool. I used to own "French Girl." FYI, Chris Larson used Princeton Reverbs to voice the pickups. He said he liked to get a Princeton to start sweating at around 4-5 iirc. I played it through many amps, and It sounded unbelievable through a Vibrolux Reverb, especially the neck pickup, the sound just bloomed - if you don't have one, seriously consider it - I think it was the perfect match for the Girl I owned. Have FUN with it!

Awesome, I have been wanting to do a build with 50's counter top material and that old counter top binding, but do it up hollow like a danelectro.
