Ok today I got a expensive Hagstrom Elvis Presley reissue made in China.

I have 3 Elvis rooms in my house.

Very nice guitar. I wouldn't consider $1399.00 a really super expensive high-end guitar though. Now if it was $13,999.00 you're in the ballpark.

If you lived the way I have to you would consider it expensive.
Beautiful guitar and congrats.

However, you have 3 Elvis rooms in your house and yet you consider $1399 a "really super expensive" guitar?

Ok today I got a expensive Hagstrom Elvis Presley reissue made in China. High end like a Eastman. So well made. sunburst, almost original style headstock looks like a Fender, Single coils but do not sound like a Strat but different. And a nice strap. Nice neck. Killer trapeze tailpiece. Hagstrom, a Swedish guitar maker, became internationally famous in 1968 when Elvis Presley played a ‘67 Viking II on television for his first performance in more than seven years. Today, Hagstrom makes guitars in the vintage designs but with modernized and upgraded electronics, features, and ergonomics.

With maple-ply body and gold hardware, these are well-made guitars that play great. They are also equipped with specially designed dual-coiled Hagstrom mini-humbucking pickups that have a pull-knob, split-coil option that switches the pickup to single coil. This changes the sound to result in a snappier single-coil sound versus the smoother humbucker sound. The tonal range and options are impressive, and the sound is great. This is the limited-edition Sunburst Classic model maple body, Bolt-on maple neck, Resinator fingerboard, Dual-coiled Hagstrom humbucking pickups, Splittable single-coil mode.

Cost new is $1,399.00. And I really like it. I have 3 Elvis rooms in my house. So I have always wanted a original. But they are old, falling apart etc.. And this one is perfect and is 1000 times better than the original. And I am going to enjoy my guitar. I went and got it today after 11 o'clock. I finally broke down got me one. I am grateful. I know longer work health issues. I can play it all day If I want. Amazing quality for the reissue.

Yes I consider a 3000 dollars or less expensive. 500 up to 1000 a medium priced. And 500 or less is cheap. Anything over 3000 is a boutique like my Custom 77 Montana Fate.

And my Elvis items are cheap. Very few was expensive. I got them by collecting them over the years.

See if you have a place for this in one of your Elvis rooms. This picture was taken from the spot Elvis stood during the Sun sessions. The piano is the one used by Jerry Lee Lewis for his Sun records. The X on the floor is where Bill Black stood. There's a hole worn in the floor from his stand up bass. Scotty was opposite Bill just out of range of the picture. I had this blown up to 24 x 30 for 30 bucks and I have it hanging in my jam room. Almost forgot, that drum kit was left behind after U2 did some recording there for the Rattle and hum album.

Here is my 1967 made in Sweden Hagstrom Viking 1 (w/copied Fender headstock, before Fender forced Hagstrom to change it) that my parents bought me used in 1969, at age 12 1/2, as my first electric guitar.

The guitar has a unique, Gretsch-like tone with extra sizzle. A killer rockabilly tone, it's easy to understand why Elvis chose it.

The pickups are not humbuckers - they're single coils. A couple of decades ago or so, Lindy Fralin rewound the bridge PUP for me (it had died) with some extra winds so now it sounds more like an underwound P90 and balances perfectly with the stock neck PUP.

Bottom pic, l-r, are Tom Gross, Phil Jacoby (Philtone Guitars in Baltimore), and me.

Note that, in that pic, the guitar doesn't yet have the N.O.S. made by Bigsby for Hagstrom trem that I added later.

Both f-holes are stuffed with black fabric. Without it, the guitar is unplayable at stage volumes. With it, it sounds sweet indeed.

It was expensive and made in China. Enjoy.
Eastman is expensive and made in China. I compared it to a Eastman because there is not a lot of high end guitars made in China.

Highland was. I own one. And they went under. And my Custom 77 Montana Fate boutique not made anymore is expensive with tone pro parts, wood, etc... so I also compared it to the Custom 77.

Looks nice - I don't know much about them.
They were made in Sweden years ago. A guy bought them. And now has them made in China. And they are expensive and pricy. Some will not pay for a expensive guitar from China like a Eastman. Or a cheap either.

The Hagstrom single cut the Super Sweed is better than a LP in my opinion. 6 adjustable saddles instead of a tail piece. They are a major improvement over any other single cut.

They have some unique designs.
