The colors look good to me. I like satin myself.
I really like the red one.

Or buy in person so you know EXACTLY what you are getting...
I buy over the net but only from trusted retailers. All the stories I hear about GC I wouldn't touch them for buying sight unseen if I lived in the US.
Unfortunately no GC in my area had any in stock and they won't order one unless you buy it first. Not to mention I can't get 18 month interest free financing from anywhere else.
Anyway, they ordered me another one on Friday after giving me an additional $75 off the price making it $348 after tax. They also gave me a $50 GC gift card. The person from corporate who squared things promised me that they sent me a guitar that is still sealed in the original Fender box and was never opened by a GC, MF or any other employee.
We shall see what shows up next week.![]()
Well, here she is: View attachment 210008
She plays and sounds great. Surprisingly quiet. I do need to take her in for a neck tweak, as the recent cold weather has caused some annoying fret buzz. What a great guitar. I love the Flame Orange. It changes color depending on the lighting conditions. Sometimes it looks red, other times it looks almost copper. I guess the third time was a charm.
Not that I trust the color on the Fender pics, but that candy blue looks a lot like the Lake Placid Blue on the '64 AVRI (the MIM standard LPB looks nothing like the '64 reissue). If that is actually the case, then that gorgeous color, together with the satin-finished back, would make this a winner for me (though I would change the pickguard to white or parchment).
I like orange guitars, and I like how the flame orange looks in the pic:

but I'm not a fan of satin -- satin , get thee behind me! -- it looks cheap to me.
