    Hi all

Not mine. Thought you might like to see pics of a contact's new Road Worn Vintera in Lake Placid Blue. Limited edition.

...a few close ups of the relic work, it’s really very nicely done I think... nothing like those terrible early ones and the tragic Brad Paisley arm wear... even the maple neck looks tastefully aged. I've seen a lot of pics of worse looking Custom Shop relics. Mind you this is a grand in the UK

Not much of a fan of blue guitars, maple necks or relics...somehow I’m liking this though. Cool guitar!

You are not wrong. This looks to me a little like MJT work. Maybe not close to the best of CS but the buy new price tag for that is astronomical now in the UK. Used is much better value.

I wish Fender would combine Baja's and Roadworn because I like both but I really dig the LPB color on these.

I've never seen the point in buying road worn honestly. I have a Vintera tele and I'd rather wear it out myself!! But then again I also buy new jeans instead of road worn jeans so....

"Feel" in a word. Putting the aged looks to one side. Different feel in the hands.

I have a Road Worn from 2014, below. It's a superb guitar and it differs to say a Baja 50s in the difference in the feel. The smooth worn neck finish and rolled fingerboard are a real pleasure. Very well made too. It needed better pickups so I gave it Nocasters. This one was stripped bare wood by the prior owner and is now just oiled. I think he messed some with the relic job and screwed it up! Got it very cheap.

Looks great! I like the roadworn because of the feel of them, I also like not being worried about the first scratch because I probably won't notice. Everybody loved them when they first came out because they seemed to have some special mojo. The wear was a bit too much for me but now that it's more subtle, I wouldn't mind picking one up.

It's very well done. The wear on the body edges looks to be about the same, and in the same place, as my 83' AM Stnd, which is worn naturally.

not a fan of relic'd guitars, but looks pretty cool. I do like the paint checking. The Vintera itself- awesome guitar!

Very, very cool guitar. I'd put an off-white pickguard on immediately ;D

I'm a big fan of a clear finish on a Tele, but I'd be sorely tempted to respray this particular guitar.

To those of you who are dreaming of stripping a Fender solid color finish and going naked, watch yourself. This is typical of what you might get and a significant number aren't even this handsome.

I actually really like it - and the grain. In person the body has darkened/ambered a wee bit.

That you like it, is all that matters.

I'm in a strange place where I'm surrounded by clear finish bodies, and I've got to decide which ones maybe should have a solid color finish. I've got this one clear finish one piece ash body, which isn't "interesting" enough to me at times. Compared to others. But if I painted it, I would have to have my head examined.

If they made a Roadworn 60s with a lacquer body and 7.25 rosewood neck I'd buy it.

It looks great, I so nearly ordered one of these this week. How are the fret ends? The one I saw in a local shop (it was the 70’s relic) had shocking fret sprout, it scared me off ordering without seeing/playing.

The Roadworn guitars are $1099! No thanks! For that kind of money I'll take an AM Performer every time.

I'd have to ditch that black pickguard (for w/b/w, creme or mint) but that looks nice!
