I thought the Pro sounded great in the demos. The one thing you never know from a demo is just how loud it really is to get those sounds.

A few above have mentioned that this amp may be too loud for a home player. I am a soft home player; sounds like may not be the right one for me.

I was considering the 68 Vibro Champ as a really cool grab and go amp. But for $750, the lack of a real spring reverb killed it for me. How much better is the 68 VC than the Super Champ X2? Both are probably made in Mexico, have 6V6 output tubes, digital reverb and 10” speaker. The 68 VC is $350 more than the Super Champ. The VC might sound a little better but I think I’ll just keep my Super Champ.

    I agree,
I'm set for my amps now, but this size Pro would be perfect for my 'big gigs'

I received my Pro Reverb a couple of weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:

    It’s a keeper.
    No major shortcomings.
It does everything thing that I hoped it would do. It’s not as bulky and aggressively loud as a Twin. It has way better headroom than a Deluxe Reverb. It is loud, but there is a nice taper on the volume pot and it’s great at bedroom volumes (about 2.) It’s musical and dynamic (hi-fi) like a good Fender amp. I bought it because I need versatility and volume to perform full sets to audiences of 300 to 1,000. I like the fact that you can stack an 8 ohm extension cab, and it handles the 4 ohm load.
I like the fact that it’s a simple single channel with a mid knob. I played it today with a rhythm section and it rocked. It set in the mix when it was supposed to, and it came forward when it was supposed to. It was the pallet for great tone and did everything I asked it to. I used it with both an alnico cream and an EVM-12L, although the stock Neo sounds better than I thought it would, but I think the other two speakers sounded better than the stock speaker. The extended dynamic range of the EVM gave a real tight bass and sparkly highs. It was really musical. The video that Fender put out is a good representation of how mine sounds. It is a great pedal platform.

I hate recommending an amp to anyone. We are all different. What you’re picky about is not what I’m picky about. I like this amp/format and I bought this instead of something else. I’m happy. Let’s hope it holds up to some heavy use. Time will tell. Rock on.

I won't but, when I look at this amp, I want to sell 3 of my amps, keep the
Vox Pathfinder, and get this new Pro!

It's beautiful and has just the right features for me.

No complaints about the 10” speaker, but I wish they had gone with an Eminence or a Weber instead, preferably Alnico, but that’s just me. Can’t really justify buying an amp at that price point and immediately ripping out the speaker.

I had a BF Pro Reverb for a hot minute. That thing is really cool. With the chassis width slimmed down to one channel, I wonder if there's room in that cabinet for a 2x10 speaker setup.

Close! You are getting your ' blues Harveys' mixed up!

    It's Harvey Brooks on bass.
Not sure, but just assuming photo is from the Super Sessions- sessions.
( I love pictures of Bloomfield)

    Ah yes, Brooks!

Bloomfield fascinates me. Maybe the only 60's "guitar hero" who never really dabbled or mastered distortion.

He played loud through his Fender Twins (and other amps), but mostly clean.

Not that he did not use playing dynamics, but he pushed his tone with amp volume- he was loud!
    But fascinating to listen to.

The guy just loved to play, and could just will his hands & guitar to just 'will' the music inside his head to come out.

I think of Mike B. and Johnny Winter ( not the chorus stuff, but early playing especially) as having that same love of playing- not worry about some ( loud!) mistakes, just go for it, with clean volume.

That’s like complaining that a JCM800 doesn’t have enough clean room.

I absolutely love how my Vibro-Champ sounds with the 8-inch Weber Signature Alnico speaker. It’s exactly the sound I was going for. Those mids are glorious to my ears. That’s how a Vibro-Champ is supposed to sound.

It sounds good, but just doesn't quite have the presence of the Pro. Sure, it's hard to tell from a YouTube video, but the punch and presence just does not seem to be there with the Vibro Champ.

I have not played one in person, so I cannot say for sure.
