Yep, and it works. I'll have a cigarette now and then fall asleep. It was good for me.

I'll repeat my question, what does all that distasteful talk about Cobain's widow and a ketchup splatted guitar have to do with the new Kurt Cobain Signature Mustang?

Enlighten me, what does it have to do with that?

I will enlighten you. It has NOTHING to do with it. It's called a warped sense of humor and I'm sorry if I offended anyone with it. But, when ANYBODY dies, they get more famous for dying than anything, then people make jokes. Why? For fun. Elvis died.....tons of fat jokes, drug jokes, peanut butter and 'nanner jokes. Hendrix died.....became a legend because of dying....quicker than he would have had he stayed alive. Today...Etta James died. You may be too young to know who she is. AMAZING TALENT!...what will people be saying all day long???? "AT LAST"!!!!! Why? Because that song is more famous than any song than anybody I've mentioned so far has ever put out. So.....people will poke fun. That's what they do. You've done it too.

Ok, now that you've been enlightened. If you folks would go to the actual FENDER FORUMS and put half as much energy into writing to them to make a Kurt model that points the other way or has an upside down logo on the headstock, it would probably do a lot more good than yelling at me for quite a clever little jab at Kurt did, that I'm sure a few other sick minds got a kick out of and then simply moved on. So please, place your energies in a place where it might actually make a difference and ask the folks at FMIC if they will possibly consider such a model instead of putting a crown of thorns on my head and nailing me to a cross (since one guy asked to worship me). So, I know funny. Now go talk to the guys that can actully get it done, if you want it done instead of wishing for it to happen here.

This is the largest Telecaster discussion list in the world. I'm sure FMIC looks at a few things here and there. If you make a joke about suicide, cancer, murder/rape, you have to expect some backlash, especially if the quip is lacking any humor, wit, or insight.

Looks cool, but I have a JB in the bridge position on my Les Paul and don't really like it. I was thinking of a 65RI last summer but never got the money together. When I finally do I'll probably still go in that direction.

My wife convinced me to play the Kurt Cobain Mustang yesterday. I loved it. I'm used to playing with a capo on the second or third fret so the short scale felt nice. Awesome neck and frets. The fit and finish were great. I really was digging it. Had my eyes on a LP Studio... but the Mustang is now on my radar. Also tried the Pawn Shop Mustang... also a great guitar, although the neck on the KC was better. For how much the Pawn Shop is... for just a little more the Cobain is a better guitar.

Watched Smells Like Teen Spirit video. Seems that Kurt Cobain's real racing stripe blue Mustang had a matching headstock... the new KC Mustang now does not.

Yeah, that guitar was an original competition Mustang and not modified. To be consistant accross the range it appears Fender have done a Competition version of his In Utero era guitar, which if you like is the "signature" model (Has features and mods unique to Cobain). I think it's a pretty cool idea.

Oh that original competition stripe guitar of Cobain's on which this is based was modified: It had a hot rail pickup at the bridge and the bridge itself was replaced by a Tune-O -matic.

Cobain during the rehearsals of the "In Utero" tour with one of the FOUR (Not five) Mustangs he received from Fender. Three of those Mustangs were in sonic blue and the fourth in Fiesta red. All four Mustangs survived the tour undamaged.

Cobain's tech Earnie Bailey modified them to have Duncan JB humbuckers at the bridge, a Tune-o-Matic bridge and the removal of the springs of the vibrato unit, so it basically became a stop bar. In addition the necks were shimmed to increase the angle to improve sustain.

The pedals are a Boss DS2, a Tech 21 Sans amp classic, an EH Poly Chorus and an EH Small clone.

Yep. I remember them vividly from the Live and Loud New Years Concert. They are the main reason I STILL want a Sonic Blue Mustang.

One of my friends had a Jagstang in college. That guitar was terrible. I did have a lot of fun with it because it was such a challenge to get a good sound out of it. It looked awesome though.
