I'm a big fan of Epiphone and I've been waiting years for them to do something like this. The specs on these guitars are crazy. At first glance:

    - the SG Custom and Les Paul Custom both have proper ebony fretboards (unlike Gibson)

    - the LP Jr has a proper P90 and a set neck (which Epiphone haven't done since 2007)

    - the Firebird actually looks like a correctly built full neck-through Firebird

And obviously the headstocks are been redesigned closer to the Gibson ones.

On the acoustic side their original Epiphone designed acoustics look stunning, again, some with proper ebony boards which Gibson can't manage these days.

Would be interested to hear everyone else's view.

The downside: there isn't a rosewood fretboard on anything at all now.

Really cool. A lot of new stuff and I like the website. Easy to “try on” different looks.

I have an Epi goldtop that plays and sounds as good as any LP I've played. Epiphone are amazing value for money.

Not keen on the new headstock, but not keen on the old one either :D

Totally agree, the old website was really cluttered with long-discontinued models. This one is much fresher.

In terms of offerings and price points, it seems they are doing what many people have wanted. Plus the new headstock. Great job.

Wow, they've really outdone themselves this time. I'm not even remotely interested in a single guitar on their site.

There were a whole lot of guitars and even a bass that I liked in the old lineup, although some of the models, in particular some of the Les Paul finishes/special runs, were on the site and not available for years.

Juszkiewicz did a good job running Epiphone, or maybe he didn't run it and gave them a free hand, and they've had more interesting models than Gibson since the 90s.

I don't like any of the new models. Out of the old ones I liked the LP-100, the Blackback Les Paul, the koa LP, the Lee Malia LP and RD, the wood finish Explorer and the Wildkat, all versions, and Allen Woody bass. And the black P90 LP and I'm probably forgetting some other models.

I don't really like the new Kat, but at least they seem to have the correct Bigsby for it that the older ones didn't have.

    It’s....almost there.

I know it’s not a Gibson, but I’d want the Gibson headstock. I’d look for a used MIJ Epiphone, though the prices seem to be going up on those.

Really any made in Japan Les Paul variant I’d check out before garden variety Epiphone, personally.

Not bad, but a few glitches and broken links. And what’s with the “outfits”? All the signature guitars are “outfits.” Do you get matching clothes?

Also, I don’t see those cheapo Les Paul SL things on there. Does that mean they’re discontinued? I know my local has a bunch in stock, so if they get blown out, it’s cheap mod platform time!

That "Uptown Kat" has my interest! Compact semi-hollow with Firebird-style Mini's!

Honestly, I've never been a fan of the "made overseas Gibson" model for Epiphone, a company with a rich history of its' own. The models original to Epiphone, like the Genesis, Olympic\Wilshire\Crestwood, Emperor, Zephyr, the recent DC Pro, and the Wildkat (and subsequent variants, like the Uptown Kat mentioned above) are the models that interest me. I really hope streamlining their Gibson Imports lineup gives them room to expand into more of their own designs.

Epi, the new site is the Gibson format and is a nice improvement.

I have a 15 yr old Epi Les Paul Gold Top 56 that I gutted and replaced everything inside with top quality components including Gibson P90’s and it is a never sell guitar. I love it.

I think the new “Gibson” line up will do well for Epi.

I'm a sucker for blue and green right now...and I am in like with the Thayer Electric Blue LP. I don't have an LP AND I have an extra hanger.

But Sweetwater has a purple one...

It's crazy to me that they don't put the Gibson headstock shape on their guitars. Every other brand in Epiphone's price range wants to put that headstock shape on their guitars but can't. Gibson could easily let Epiphone (themselves really) use the shape and give themselves a serious head start on their competition.

    .

Looks like all the budget Epiphones are gone.
    No Special Series.
    No 100 Series.
    No SL model.
They are moving up market with the brand. Conceding the starter market to competitors.

Lowest priced is SG at $379, next is LP Studio at $450.

I see what they are doing, sometimes that works out. Other times companies miss the volume sales. It will be something to watch.

Buyers complained about the old headstock only because it wasn't the Gibson shape. This is more similar but still not right, and buyers will continue to complain.

The more folks that get to experience a fat neck Junior or Special, the better.
