I read that there was a European Dire Straits reunion tour recently, but haven't heard anything else about it other then the article in Pro Sound News that mentioned it. I was curious who was in the most recent Dire Straits. Does anyone know more?

Apparently, it comes in four versions, but only two versions are available from general sources the regular double-CD is available internationally. You can get those at Amazon...

One of my all time favs. Never has a bad tone day and listening to a Knopfler disc is like reading a history book. Every now and then I wish he would cut loose with a flurry of notes but I also like the less is more approach he's taken in recent years. I guess I'm conflicted.

Had a quick listen to the samples on Amazon last night then put my order in. All the usual type stuff from Mark and that's fine by me.

Pre-ordered. I love the guy's writing, even if I sometimes wish he would sing from his own personal perspective more. Still, he's the master of the character sketch, and that's no small thing.

Thanks for the heads up on the diary. His recording team is top-notch, I love turning the music up, hearing the background, middle, foreground, all balanced and moving at once. I've been told that MK records are good for selling stereos with... I can easily believe it.

I got the new album and it's great. A lot of Scottish inspired songs while also a nod to many of the songs he has previously recorded. Also a lot of new stuff. 2 CDs so there's a lot of good stuff.

Mark posted the following on FB today:
Privateering will not be released in the US. There is a contractual dispute between Mark and Warner Brothers which has resulted in the current situation. The record has been released in all other territories in the world as usual by Universal Music.

We are disappointed that Mark's record won't be released in the US and if the situation changes an updated statement will be issued. Very many thanks for your continued support.

You'd think Warner Bros would have enough money already.

It's a great album. Lots of blues inspired stuff with Kim Wilson playing harp as well. Maybe one of his best solo albums to date.....

i got this from Amazon when it came out .It was present for my son in law and stupidly sent direct so I havnt heard it yet.I will have to wait till my daughter smuggles it back to me ...unless he has it in his auto .

It is an awesome album...I bought the deluxe version directly from Mark Knopfler's website...They provided a free digital download about two weeks ago to hold those who purchased there over until they get the physical album...

I also got the digital download. It's another great album that covers all the Knopfler bases. Rolling Stone gives it a positive review in the current issue.
