Now that I have completed the stain on this knotty pinecaster body, I am at a crossroad regarding the neck. Opinions needed - do I strip the poly on the neck and stain so it is closer to the body? Or leave it as is, which is clear poly over clear sealer (maple neck)? Rosewood fretboard will obviously stay as is.

Looks good from this angle. More pics of the guitar from the back and where the neck meets the pocket would help.

I agree, it looks good. That knotty pine is just plain good lookin' anyway. Wear it for a few days, if the neck hurts your eyes, strip it and refinish.

In my opinion, it takes a pretty big issue for something to justify the pain of stripping polly...

+1 looks fine to my eyes... I wouldn't strip it because some people blabber about some magic recipe.

Lovely knotty wood you've got there!

Thanks to all for you r feedback. I'm going to put her together without refinishing the neck and see how it works out. Then go from there! I appreciate the input.

I'm thinking no...nothing wrong with a contrasting neck and body IMHO.
