I'm not a bassist, but thought it would be nice to have a bass around for jamming with my son (or others) who do play bass, so I had previously gotten a used CV Jazz Bass . . . but until today only had a Peavy keyboard amp to play it through . . . I had been keeping an eye on CL for a while, hoping to find a decent enough bass amp at a decent enough price, but a few weeks ago decided to hold off for a while, so I stopped looking.

Still, just happened to see a CL listing for a Fender Rumble 60 . . . I know the Rumble series is not universally praised, but one bassist friend of mine says good things about them, and what with the fact that it would only be for jamming at or around home, I figured the Rumble 60 would suffice in terms of power and sound for my rather minimal needs.

Plus $60 for this amp is close to "as-new" condition is a pretty good deal I figured. Heck, they are selling used at GC for $150 . . . So no haggling was done and I cam home today with a really fine (ok, ok . . . let's say "adequate") bass amp.

At least now we wont have to run the bass through the keyboard amp . . . .

Good deal for a house amp and practice amp it will work fine. For a stage amp it is lacking even if you mic it or use the line out (If I remember I think it has one) because it is hard to hear on stage even with a 3 piece band. I had traded a Kustom Bass amp head and a 2x10 bass cab for the one I had. Fortunately after one gig I was able to take it back and get my gear back.I traded off the Kustom head later it was not a tuck and roll head but a Kustom III that really did not have enough power either. I am not a bass player either but traded a Fender Princeton Chorus I got for free and fixed it was given to me with out speakers So I put in some speakers and fixed the problem the amp had and traded for a new P bass Clone. I wanted bass gear because my old bass player sold his stuff and this way even though my band is semi retired we could still play. He sold the bass gear because he also plays guitar and drums. The Rumble does not sound at all bad but that metal grill has a tendency to rattle at higher volumes you might want to address that issue if your amp does it. Congrats on a good price on that amp. Speaker and cab is worth that.

I had one and sold it on CL for $120 not too long ago. Those are very nice starter / home / practice bass amps. You got a great deal!! I should have kept mine. It used to be my sons but he outgrew it.

The light on the bottom is also very cool too. :p

take care...
