Been lurking around for a while, got me gassing for a tweed deluxe.

never a good idea to start fantasizing about amps, but I found Lil dawg, and Jim built me a 5e3 lunchbox for what I think is a great price and not only that but he built it over the weekend so I should get it by the end of the week:)

I’m am super impressed by the way jim does his business, straight up and unbelievably helpful

can’t wait for it to get here

I’ve got a cornford combo with a vintage 30, and a 2-12 open back with scumbacks. If I get crazy I’ll get a 1-12 cab for it in the future

Great little amps. I have a Mojotone 5E3 combo that I use at my my gigs now. I retired the Twin Reverb, the 5E3 works perfectly, love the sound, and it's so light to carry in to the gigs.
as far as speakers go. I tried quite a few. Everyone kept telling be to get an alnico blue, so I did, also tried 25 watt greenback (pre rolla), EVM12S, Jensen, Kendricks. The one i liked the best was a $20.00 stamped frame speaker that came out of a non working Fender Frontman. It fits the amp perfectly, not to bright, or to much midrange, just a good sounding little speaker.

Congrats, these are terrific amps. I got a D-Lux chassis build a few years back and put it in a TRM head cab. Sounds great through a Weber 10A100 cab. Actually it sounds great through anything. :)

The only thing better than Jim's service is the sound of his amps ;-)

I ended up with an Eminence Red Fang in it. Discontinued but I found a couple old stock going cheap.

    I’m jealous. Congrats and enjoy.

I really miss having a 5E3. I had a Clark Beaufort years ago and it was amazing. I recorded a few songs with it and it was glorious, but not an amp I’d use live. I sold it when I was going through a divorce. Really wish I could have held onto it.

Things are better now. I think I might have to add another 5E3 to my stable.

It’s here!!! Tubed it up fired it up and started twisting knobs, now my fingers hurt

it’s very cool and not too loud for me but it’s clearly going to take time to figure out all the best settings

awesome, though my 2-12 pretty much what I expected, great cleans with tele and lp and massive crunch when turned up but cleans up with pick attack or volume knob.

thank you Jim from Lil dawg.

Jim delivers fantastic customer service, and a superior product! He built me a D-Lux combo last year that several friends have commented is the finest 5E3 they've ever heard...huge praise from guys that are all self-confessed gear whores. I really treasure mine - I suspect that you'll love yours too!

    Congarts!

ive been talking to Jim for a while now and he’s been the absolute best!

at the moment I have a quote for a nice 5F8A - 80w Tweed Twin in the same lunch box format! Currently saving up the money for it!
