It's not here yet, but here is where I've been:

While I love my Teles, and I love my Les Paul's, I need (want) a nice sounding acoustic, our band wants me to play an acoustic on some of our songs, and I agree. I am a Martin fan, owning a D-35 years ago and selling it for way too cheap...that will always haunt me. So after lots of research and going around playing all the acoustic guitars in my price range and playing the ones out of my price range, the acoustic vibes have me loving this one, then loving that one, then hurting on my wallet, then I find myself thinking "I'll just save some more and not tell the wife" thoughts. So what did I decide and do? Well there is no denying Martin guitars are heavenly, at least to my ears, the Taylor's are fab too. The ones that made me shiver, my wallet wasn't really able to accommodate my ears wanting. There was one guitar that I could afford that I could not deny sounded heavenly, but I had never really ever considered them to be a fabulous sounding guitar. If I closed my eyes it sounded so gorgeous but looking at the name on the headstock just made my brain not compute! It was a Blueridge BR-160A, and it has been driving me crazy since playing it. It has a solid Adirondack spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back. Sounds super, I mean to my ears, Super! So I have been reading and researching all about these guitars. No they are not a Martin or a Taylor or any other fabulous well known guitar. They are Blueridge from the Saga Company. Like them or not, they are great sounding and affordable. Through all my reading and research I found Maury's Music, where I bought my new BR-160A. They are installing a Fishman Ellipse Aura pickup/pre amp system in it. Thrilled and can't wait to get it. Here are the online pics of the guitar I chose from Maury's:

The adi-topped Blueridge guitars are nice, and like all guitars some are better than others. Still kciking myself for not getting a BR140A I played a few years back. The guitar sounded fantastic. And I'm a rosewood junkie.

Hope yours sounds as good as it looks!

Thanks to all you guys! I forced myself to buy the best sounding guitar I could find under $1000 dollars, regardless of the name on the headstock. For me, and my ears it was the Blueridge BR-160A. Can't wait to get it, I know I will love it!

Please be sure to post and let me know how you like it. I have been thinking about the BR-160A for a few weeks now and would love to hear what you think of it. I have also owned and regretfully sold a Martin D-35, so I am particularly interested to hear what you think.

The 160A arrived yesterday, I am thrilled....what a beautiful guitar and the sound is fabulous! Three cheers for Maury's and another three for Blueridge!

Congrats! My local guitar store (90 miles away), just started carrying that brand. Never even heard of them. I guess I'll give them a try next time I'm there.

    Have fun on the honeymoon!

Thanks, go play the BR-160A, just fabulous! I am thinking I may order a 160 12 string from Maury's also.

If that guitar sounds as much like a D-28 as it looks, it ought to be a fine-sounding guitar. That thing looks sweeeet!!

I like it alot. Feels very comfortable, very smooth. I play a Gibson LP most of the time and have always preferred their 60's neck, the Blueridge neck feels similar. Yup, I like it.
