Hey @darylcrisp - don't sell yourself short, because I really enjoyed your "tone report". Many thanks for sharing that! I am even more curious now to check one out in person

Well, that sounds like a pretty good endorsement. That makes sense given that the 72 Cuatom and Deluxe are essentially set up line Gibsons.

Jonesing so hard for one of these right now, but no way to justify it. I have to wait till they're available used and I can feel the neck in my hands.

Alternately, if the pups are made available a la carte, I can drop them in my MIM '72 Thinline.

This is where I'm at. Since I started building my own, buying one seems less and less necessary.

    Then Fender releases this....

I typically like wider nut and flatter radius, but I'd be hard pressed to say no if the right one came along at the right price.

Sweetwater printed it in the third group description under pickups. Super rare magnets and expensive, probanly a third the cost of the $1800 they are asking.

The magnets in the Tim Shaw replica are said to be equivalent to an Alnico 3 in strength. I have the WR that was fitted to the Mexican re issue custom, the bar magnet is Alnico 2 and they never sound muddy. The tone & volume pot is 500K. With the originals other things came into play to get that tone besides CuNife ..like windings. Personally I would not upgrade..

I notice the big S/Plate has a matt finish to it rather than reflective gloss. The neck is 9.5" radius 3 bolt fit adjustable angle. Overall better than the Mexican version..but 2.5 times the price...

Bump because I really want to get a TDPRI review on these. I pulled the trigger on a Gibson LP Standard 50’s goldtop a few weeks back, but I still am gassing for a white AO 70’s Telecaster in white

I too keep checking here for some kinda report from someone! I know people are buying them because I look at the Sweetwater listings all the time and watch them come in and out of stock, but so far no substantial reviews anywhere...

I really want the white one, but I'm not sure how I'd get on with the maple neck if it's real gloppy... I generally prefer RW boards, but man that white one is gorgeous!! I need a report!

I want that blonde maple so bad. My next guitar for sure. My new LP 50’s Standard Goldtop will hold me over until that day though :)

Here's a recent new demo video... I'm really jonesing for one, but I will not I WILL NOT! (help) buy one without playing it in person first. I really need to feel what the maple neck is like. If it's too glossy I'd want to go with the rw.

Pervious videos had me kind of fence sitting, but I really like how this one sounds...
