Also note that the Contemporary and Affinity versions have the standard (Gibson-sized) humbuckers instead of the larger Wide Range footprint, so you would have more choices for replacement pickups.

Having said that, I have Telenator T2s in my Modern Player Starcaster, and it's killer. That's my number one axe.

I have some Creamery WRHBs being installed in my Squier VM Tele Deluxe as we speak.... can't wait to hear those too!

The zZounds links no longer work for some reason.

Also, I find it interesting that the wide range-style HBs now have "Squier" engraved on the covers, rather than "Fender" as the WRHBs did in previous Squire models (Tele Deluxe). I wonder if they're somehow different. Not that the Fender reissues were anything special.

I wanted the CAR Affinity at first for that reason: Filtertrons and a Bigsby. Binding and neck won out though, and I want some legit WRHBs to play. Price is a factor, and the Brandons seem like a good value. Too bad I missed the Telenator period, doh.

The guitars aren't on ZZsounds or AMS any more. They must have been offered prematurely. It's happened before.

Or maybe they trying to gauge a demand of that particular guitar?

They don't have it listed or shown on the Squierguitars.com website.

I love these. I always wished they’d do the five knob version and make the knob placement like the originals.

I was sort of hoping fender would do a high end reissue of the Coronado or Starcaster, but I suppose then they’d be battling against bigger classics, 335s.

Maybe it because the Headstock looks just like one of these

They're beautiful. I'd love a MiM classic series one with the original bridge, extra knob and the bullet truss rod. These Squiers are actually better looking, but I like the 1970s clumsiness of the originals.

Weird how they're releasing so many. Their market research must be highlighting a big opportunity.

Those of you who got an order in before they pulled them - What was the price?

$399.99 for the CV and Contemporary, $299.99 for the Affinity.

I would hope so, seeing there was both a Modern Player Coronado II and Starcaster before. I’ll cancel my Starcaster order if Squier releases a fully hollow version like the original, so I can slap some DeArmond 2000 types in it. At NAMM?

    .

I liked that they were all maple necks. No messing around with rosewood/pao ferro/ebony or anything. Straight up local woods.
