    Okay, not that pointy.

Very cool. Fit, finish and playability are off the charts. Pickups sound great. Trem stays in tune. I have it set to go down but not up. Setup with my usual Paradigm 11s. Heck, Phill Colleen uses 13s and a metal pick. So 11s aren’t that strange on a superstrat.

Will be perfect for my punk band.

Replaces a MIJ Jackson I foolishly sold when I decided I “needed” huge necks. Meaning “deep” necks. What a mistake. I mostly hate deep necks.

But I’m super happy with this one. Traded some things that weren’t too dear to get it.

    That looks sweet

Those certainly are interesting, even has the route around the bridge for floaty goodness

    Cool

If I was after a superstrat without a Floyd I’d consider one of those

I've always liked the look of the Charvel logo on that headstock shape.

Yes. I don’t like them to float because the bends I do tend to be country/faux pedal steel. So I need the unbent note(s) on the higher strings to stay in tune.

I guess there’s a mod (tremstop?) that allows the trem to sit flat but not float. But for now the shop just cranked the tension screws a bit which works great.

It is a great logo. I loved the first 3 Ratt albums growing up and still admire Warren’s ideas and playing, so it’s fun to finally have a Charvel.

Way cool, I like that a lot! altho I'd be wresting with those 11's on it. Just curious, where it was produced and what's the model called?

I really like that one. The color is great and the humbucker at the bridge is a nice option. I was looking at those for a little bit because I'm not a floyd rose person. Charvel makes nice stuff. I was after a tangerine colored one I played at a shop one day for a while. It had a nice unfinished/raw feel to the neck I really liked. Whats the finish like on that one?

    Congrats and enjoy it!

They call it “hand rubbed urethane”. Feels like a really slick, really worn in pool cue. Very nice.

Wait. I just noticed that the bridge pickup is slanted opposite a regular Strat. Innaresting.

Congrats!! These new model Charvels are the cat’s PJ’s! I’ve been a huge Charvel fan my whole life, and have owned dozens over the years. I’m currently charvel-less. I finally pretty much totally wore out my TTX. I have the pieces that were salvageable, but it’ll probably never be a whole guitar again. I want that same model you have, but in the blue, or the burgundy.

Luv those guitars. Been looking very closely at getting one.

Just that string trees bug me and these have 2!

Why do string trees bug you? If it matters, these sit “higher”. The string isn’t depressed that much by the trees. There might also be a roller/bearing in them but I admit I didn’t look closely.

I actually went to look at an HM Strat. It was really cool. But the Floyd put me off a bit and I happened on the Charvel by happy accident.

Cool! Sort of a super Strat goldtop.

I like the reverse-slant bridge pickup idea. I did that mod to a butchered Melody Maker I used to play (currently in parts downstairs) and thought the twangier low notes and rounder high notes suited how I play a lot better than the normal forward slant.

I know they are traditional and a defining feature of Fenders, but to me they are an agricultural solution to poor design (here comes endless arguments). Just IMHO.

I can only just tolerate one string tree, but two starts to look very messy and even more agricultural. Regardless of how cleverly they are designed.

I would rather no string trees and staggered tuners, a la Eric Johnson model, or roller nuts, a la Strat Plus/Deluxe of the early 90s, or any other solution to do away with them..... and yes I am being fussy.

But everything else about that Charvel looks great. I am even cool with the reverse angle of the bridge pup. It actually makes more sense to me than the way Leo designed the Strat.

Luv the two knobs only and the way the vol is a bit further away, the slimline body that retains a hint of the Strat shape, the 24 frets, etc.
