Very nice, she's a beauty!
The white guard blonde is my favorite tele finish. That one is a stunner! Congrats and happy trails.
She's a beauty!
Congrats, I love that naturally-faded body.
Wow, it is a beautiful guitar. Great find, we want more pics and details?
Beautiful! If you start with any electric guitar, and take away everything that isn't pure electric guitar, you end up with that right there. Well done.
We need more pics!!!
Thank you to all for the kind words and congrats. They are very much appreciated.
More pics coming on the weekend. Details? Well, it was being sold by a fairly well known Northern California refinisher. We worked out a deal and I had to sell a few of m items to make payment (wife has a rule, one now must go out for one of equal or lesser value to come in).
Spent about an hour with it this afternoon. It weighs in around 7 lbs. The neck is a V and feels terrific. Frets have a ton of life left in them. Pots sound clean and not scratchy. Pick up is strong and twangs and growls with amazing clarity and tone. Only potential issue is the nut, at the high E string. A bit of damage to it (small chip off the corner), but the E stays in place (even with bends) and stays in tune. Hopefully it will be a long time before I need to deal with it, if ever.
Never say never, my friend. Until I was 40, I had one cheap acoustic and a MIM Strat, a crappy SS amp and a plastic Zoom multi effects pedal.
Thanks. I think Mark was fairly close.
Yep, I think you are right.
Maybe not, but that is what I am telling myself.
Thanks Mark and I agree with you 100% and that is why I had to make this purchase happen.
Thanks again, all...
Congrats. She's a beauty!
Congrats! I've promised myself an old Tele too when I retire and sell my premises. Something like this or a blackguard is ideal. Not bothered about the finish...just the wood and wire!
I still haven't recovered from missing a refin '52 for £1100 in 1990 here in the UK!!
Thanks very much and OUCH! Sorry about your missing that '52.
I remember years ago, being in Carmel CA and seeing parked on the street, a restored MINT '62 Porsche Roadster, selling for $7k. Still kicking myself for passing up on that one. But I learned a lesson not to vacillate when my gut tells me to go for it.
Just keep searching, 'cause you never know what will show up...
Oh Yeah! Congrats!
She's a beauty at any price!!!
LOL! I said that the day i brought home the Mary Kaye! You're collection is getting better every time I look at it.. Congrats!
Way to go man! play the heck out of it!
