Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person on TDPRI that has never modified a guitar, (other than changing a pickguard on a J Bass once.)

The most I do is basic setup functions. I’ve never changed pickups, bridges, saddles, etc. I’ve never felt the need to do anything to my guitars.

Well, then, you'll never have to write "upgrades include..." in your craigslist ad, as you quickly sell bone-stock gear and we're giving discounts left & right.
    Good on ya, @burntfrijoles

How can you live with this? Not even a strap lock?

If you liked it when you bought it why change anything?

Only change out pickups, and then it's been the Vintera pickups for 64s, and a CVC ones for Tex Mex. Mainly changed the Vintera as I just hated the the thin sound, and the CVC because, I love Tex Mex Tele pickups, but not keen on the Strat ones.

    Edit: Also pick guards, sometimes.

I have no need of strap locks. I don't gig. I've never found the need to do anything. My guitars sounds like I think they should. I suppose the only I would change is the bridge pickup on my Tele IF I could find a tamer, less bright choice. Then again, why bother, just adjust with the guitar's volume and tone controls. I almost bought some compensated saddles but decided it wasn't necessary.

Exactly. I'm not knocking those who do. We all chase tone, be it pickups, pedals or amps.

I have no idea what I would change. I'm just not that sophisticated. All of my guitars have the specs I like.

Never modded any of my 7 Gibsons but all of my 14 Fenders, bar 2.

Isn't that what Fenders are for?

i like to modify to what I know and like. Things like pickups, bridges etc. My Stratocaster is about to be re-built a third time. It's a " Blackie" made from two Fender guitars and all parts added ( Fender), only the pickups are not fender but are my favourite.

I wouldn't mod another store bought/used guitar and I've gone crazy with them before. Now if I want something different I will just build something different.

For me, the main criteria when trying out a guitar is whether or not it feels good in my hands. If the sound isn't what I want, that's an easy fix with a soldering iron.

Not to me. I like the three I have now just the way they are.

I will admit that I had someone modify my first American Standard Stratocaster (1994) by "upgrading" the pickups. I never heard a difference and that was the last time I had a guitar modded.

Can’t you at least put a sticker on it?

I’d never put a sticker on a guitar or my car*. I have put a sticker or two on a guitar case!:D

(*I did tape a political sticker to the rear window of my SUV last fall.)

Me too my friend, me too...:)
I have heard that some simultaniously buy a new guitar and replacment equipment (pickups, bridge, tuners...). Why did you buy that guitar then?:)
