I called the doctors office with a question. lady I spoke to said she`d find out and call me back. I thought she meant "when I find out I`ll call back" now I think she meant "if I find out I`ll call back" I wonder if she even tried to find out?

She prob'ly forgot. Call her back and ask her, "What'd you find out?"

Assume nothing and trust no one. This was one of the axioms of my career.

Difference in a couple of generations......when I was a kid, a parent could call the doctor's office with a question, and the doctor himself/herself would call back with an answer.
Today (my experience) the office doesn't even call to notify an appointment has been cancelled and rescheduled. :(

Never allow a medical question to go unanswered. Is your doc part of a major medical center? My primary and my cardiologist are both part of medical centers. My primary does better by phone but he or someone from his office always calls back. My cardiologist is reachable through the Mt. Sinai portal. I’ve never had a question or request not have a response the same day. Find out how your doctor works. Major medical centers don’t tolerate unresponsive docs.

I like my doctor until it comes to follow through. He’s absolutely horrible at it. You can send reminders through the app and all that but I gotta remind him constantly. Time to move on.

Going into the local clinic is a social outing for me, I've known the staff and doctors for many years and we're all on a first name basis...

the treatment is first class and my doctors are quick to address any issues I have or spot things I mightn't be concerned about..but should be... and refer me to specialists if need be.

    I'm lucky really...:)

They can cancel within 12, or less, hours with no issue.
You have to cancel in less than 48 hours they want to charge you $75.00.

I call BS. My appointment is at 9:30. I get there at 9:20 to complete paperwork they already have in their computer. Maybe I see the Dr by 10:00. I see 3-4 patients walk out with no one going in. 2-3 patients are ahead of me

If I ran my business this way I’d be shut down in less than 6 months. I guess your health is not on par of your toilets being blocked. *face plant*

I do not understand this world we live in

My experience is that doctors are just one type of employee who works at a practice. The people who really run the place are the nurses. If the person who took your call was a nurse, she'll get to it when she gets around to it, if she remembers. If the person who took your call just works in the front office, they have no memory of ever talking to you. You'll get a response if your request got a nurse, when she gets around to it, if she remembers.

I always end a call like this with "I'll talk to you tomorrow to see what you find out." Either she'll call me, or I'll call her, and now she knows it.

Maybe she found out and doesn’t want to tell you?
