Your would be hard pressed to find any of the lethal weapons on there. Every once in a while you get a movie or two that good. Same with Amazon prime. Netflix is good for watching old whole series of TV shows till you watch them all. I stopped my Netflix got Amazon Prime. It first I thought prime was better but the search is so bad and I actually thing Netflix as more good stuff. I was able to watch all the stuff on prime that netflix doesn't have. Netflix I think has a lot more that amazon doesn't have I think.

I don't know the lethal weapon movies were awesome. Danny Glover in preditor 2 was really awesome as well.

Good thing about netflix is you can cancel at anytime. Prime is nothing like that. If your looking for something cool like that check out rockford files. Probably one of the best if not the best show ever on TV. It's not netflix.

It's getting better. The roadblock is the cost demanded by those who hold the rights to classic titles. Some of their series that they hold exclusive rights to have been great. I think it will continue to improve.

Having cut the cord 5 years ago, it's painful to watch conventional TV programming. I supplement Netflix with HBO Now and use Chromecast to play anything I see interesting online ( great for Youtube documentaries)

My wife got Netflix while I was away for a month helping my Dad through and after his open heart surgery. Well, that was a year and a half ago and we still have it. It is pretty much a once a week thing for us, but we live 90 miles away from the big theaters. Anyway, as stated earlier, the documentaries is the place to hang out when browsing IMO. Plenty of chick flicks for my wife while I go practice. Marginal win/win.

Edit: BTW, we don't have any other form of conventional TV for many years now. Wife will download a show once in awhile.

Got Netflix, amazon prime and Now (excellent) as well as BBC iplayer and a few other free catchup channels.

We've never watched terrestrial TV for around 3 years now. We have the subscriptions (for the pay ones you get 3 or 4 accounts to use) shared around 3 family homes so it works out cheap.

Iplayer and Amazon got downloads so you don't even need to rip a DVD for a trip offline.

Would not go back.

The MAJOR problem is the flicking through all the choices.. Too many.. And quite a lot of junk.

I rarely watch tv,but I keep Netflix for my younglings. But when I do happen to watch it,I can always find something interesting.
As mentioned in other posts, there's usually pretty good music docs.I even watch the ones of bands that I'm not really into.

Torrents, my friend. Torrents. Just do some googling with that word.

My neighbor uses it all the time. I am just glad there are some alternatives to the high costs (rip off) of the cable companies. I live on an island with only one choice in cable, and if you live in the boonies, it has to be satellite.

I got best mileage out of it looking for stuff I never heard of, and don't expect to find my favorite blockbuster sort of stuff for the money.

Best thing I've seen on Netflix is Ken Burns Jazz documentary.

I watched those (making of) classic rock albums series. A Pink Floyd concert, Muscle Shoals, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors.

But, yeah, Netflix sucks.

I checked my queue just now.

I have not seen the Bond movie Spectre (I planned to see it but plans kept changing) or The Martian, and both are high in my DVD queue. They are both on the shelf in stores on DVD, but Netflix does not have either until March 8-10 range. They have been in pay per view for a while as well.

That availability schedule is driven by the studios, cable systems, and satellite systems.

Also, it has been reported that netflix has contemplated buying cable systems (or fiber optics networks) nationwide to have and control the infrastructure to deliver programming from its servers to the consumer's TV or computer without anyone else between them. That would help with delivery and buffering, but won't overcome product availability issues. Only creating original programming and using its cable delivery power in negotiating will do that.

With the abundance of docs on Netflix you can really see that there are ok ones, decent ones, good ones, and great ones.

And the best ones succeed when you aren't even interested in the subject.

BTW -

I've been around some horrible examples of people doing horrific things to other people but I have no interest whatsoever in all the true crime, crime doc, procedural shows - both fictional and real-life.

None of it is shocking or gripping for me.

I guess I'll ride this period out - plentyof other stuff to watch.

...it's all subjective, but my wife and I felt like we were more likely to find something to watch on Netflix than we were with DirecTV. We're cable-less now, so we also have Amazon Prime.

I still get DVDs delivered. Old school lol. They're getting a little lax on keeping track - I pay for 4 at a time and I've currently got six DVDs at my house, not sure what's up with that, I'm not complaining.

Same here, they started doubling up on me about four months ago.

I have a blu ray player now that would stream, but insufficient wifi. I don't watch much TV anymore anyway.

My family seem to find stuff they want there.
I've watched a couple of movies and the Keef doc. That's it.
Is don't like the way it renders on our main hd screen. It looks jumpy and fake to me. None else in my family seems to care.
So I suppose it is just my problem.

This is likely caused by some kind of motion smoothing technology on the television. It's referred to as the "soap opera effect," and can be pretty awful at times. I bet that if you turn this off you'll be much happier.

I don't watch a lot of T.V. but we got Netflix a few years ago. There's no commercials and you can watch stuff whenever you want. How is this not better than old T.V.:?: What you can't find on Netflix you can find on Youtube.

I love my Netflix. I like my amazon prime. Netflix has great documentaries. They have Trailer Park Boys (my weakness...) Breaking bad, Orange is the new black and spartacus. I do have to agree that their movie selection is somewhat lacking. I never knew how many b - grade movies are out there.

Amazon has cool stuff like Boardwalk Empire, The Pacific, Band of Brothers, John Adams and Rome.
They're both good. One supplements the other.
