Got tired of looking like I'd been in a fight after shaving so I'm gonna try electric
My Panasonic Arc 5 arrived today, seems pretty awesome and it does in fact give a very close shave

(I know, I know...a real man shaves with a viking battleax or rattlesnake fangs)

I’m a Braun man. Have been since I was 18. For my b’day that year, my mother bought me a Braun electric. I had no noticeable facial hair until I was 21, so I was a bit confused by the gift. My mum was a wonderful person, but a little… lacking in situational awareness…

I cannot abide electric razors. It takes longer for a not-very-close shave and, if you have any beard growth at all, it hurts.

I shave my entire head and neck with a Gillette Fusion five-blade razor. Every once in a blue moon, I'll be forced to use a two-blade or a three-blade and, man, having all five blades really makes a difference.

Nice! A veritable wet/dry electric battle-axe!

I'm a safety razor and blades man myself, don't get on with electric razors, and don't like the non-recyclable plastic gubbins that disposable blades involves.

But if I was allowed to, I'd grow a long, straggly Billy Gibbons-style beard. But domestic happiness wins again... 😊

Never doubt a man named Skully on this topic.

That's said, since March 2020 I'd been shaving my head twice a week since I couldnt get to a barber. With a Mach e blade. In Dec 2022, I got sick and then lazy so let it grow out a bit. The barber then trimmed it back and used an electric one to finish the job.

After that I ordered a Remington skull shaver. It's great. I don't miss as many spots. I don't think it's gets as close but it's less effort and less cuts on my dome.

I have conceded my rugged highly-chiseled angular features make me prone to facial cuts, with a blade.

My mother inquired during a recent family zoom meeting "what does the other guy look like?"
That was the tipping point, I think

well, yeah, you are a viking like the dudes who rode roughshod over the british isles and stuff... super tough and spilling blood with your groovy axes and stuff. So, yeah.
