My wife works from home from the home PC. This requires being stuck to the desk waiting for calls. She uses a headset phone. There is a USB adaptor that 2 - 1/8" inputs (one for mic one for headphones) plug into. The USB adaptor then plugs into the PC USB port.

Is there anything out there that would enable wireless capability, to make her mobile to get up and mopve around, while not missing the phone ringing into the set?

Yes, but they are a little spendy.

Plantronics has the CS50 and CS60, plus a bunch of Bluetooth options. GN Netcom makes a bunch of them, and they have better binaural options.

I have had Plantronics headsets at the office wireless and, uh, wireful (wired?). Right now I have the CS55 and the wireless is nice because I can scoot over to my files or back table while I am on a call. However, the sound quality is not as good as the hard wired version, even when I am just a couple feet from the docking thingy. If your wife talks to people from abroad it might make it hard to parse out what they are saying.

Try some bluetooth technologies. As SR said. They've got good range, can't verify the clarity tho.
