I was watching Colin Hay do "Down Under" and he looks like he's playing a 3+3 headstocked version of a telecaster.

    Any ideas you guys?

I don't think it's a snakehead because it has a neck pickup, rosewood fretboard, and no control plate. But it is sort of that style.

Colin has a sizeable collection of one-offs made by custom builders. This one isn't a Fender. It's a Bill Asher custom, like this one:

Beautiful! I'd say you're right Peegoo, that looks exactly like it! I knew TDPRI would be the place to find out. :)

I would agree that it's an Asher - I didn't know Colin Hay had one.

If you haven't heard of Asher before - Bill Asher Jr. is the luthier; he runs a small shop in California with his wife. Fun fact - Bill is the son of Elizabeth Montgomery from the TV series Bewitched (his father, Bill Sr. was married to Montgomery during the run of the series and was a writer/producer on the show).
