So, I scored a good sized chunk of wood after a recent storm up here. A pine tree got knocked down so my first thought was, of course, Pinecaster! The chunk I have is about a foot in diameter and about 20-22 inches long. So what I need to know is; what are the dimensions of the Tele body?

I would think you'll be waiting a while for it to dry...

Yes, thank you. I know it'll be about a 2 year wait. I just hope it doesn't shrink to the point it's unusable.

BTW, Skydawg, thanks for the link to Terry's pdf. I just made a copy of it. :D

I hope this is kind of related. Does anybody know if the cavities on the 1.5" thick pine bodies were the same as what is used today on the 1.75" thick bodies? I have a thick pine body with a slight defect and I thought I'd convert it to a thinner one rather than make a Thinline out of it. Thanks.

The control cavity on a 1.75 body is cut to 1.5 deep!!! WATCH OUT! Measure it first before you cut!

Ok, The coffee is starting to kick in. I'm looking for the vintage neck, pickup, and control depths for a 1.5" thick pine body. I don't think Leo would have cut the control cavity to 1.5 deep :). I'll guess 1.25" maybe.
