I'm building a neck soon and i was wondering how much the shape of the headstock contributes to the sound of a guitar. Thanks!

i would think it wouldnt really make a difference. parker headstocks are non existent, and they sound great. cant remember what the name of the guitars are, but theres also the ones that have no headstock at all, just nut locks.

Steinberger Guitars may be what you are thinking of...

The strings effectively end at the nut. To say the HS makes "no" difference is probably not accurate...mass is mass and mass affects the way anything vibrates. But, unless the HS is huge and adds alot of mass to the guitar, or is unsound from a design standpoint, I wouldn't think it would make any noticable difference.

    Peace,

I just hope the maple is strong enough to hold that piece of wood steady.
